Have you heard of Piko Tops. If not, google them and get yourself some. They are the MOST comfortable shirts, that are so flattering, too. Great, loose fit--but not so loose that they are frumpy. They are available from lots of retailers, but most that I could find were sold out. They are made from bamboo and spandex--a combo you don't want to miss people (and they are extremely affordable, too!!!) Try this website, that seems to still have some good stock.

We are having a Mardi Gras themed engagement party for a friend this weekend, and I was in charge of desserts. I enlisted sweet Whitney of Uppercrusts to help us out and think she did a GREAT job. This is the same friend that did the precious cupcakes for our baby shower a few weeks back (can you tell I'm in the party planning business, peeps) and she did not dissapoint. If you are giving a party, get in touch with me and I'll give you her info....she can do just about anything. I got this sneak peek last night and thought I'd share!!

While catching up on Homeland last night, I got an order ready to place for a great client here in Memphis (pics of that project to come next week, hopefully, at her first install if everything comes in on time!). There is a cowhide involved, and I keep thinking about how much I LOVE cowhides. My Mother-in-Law-to-be gave us one that she had bought for their house that didn't fit the space, but she couldn't return--I plan to use it in our den. They are such a great neutral pop--unexpected and a more gutsy choice than something more plain. Look at these pretties.....
Everyone should incorporate some cow somewhere in their home (artificial clearly-I too am an animal rights activists.)

I've mentioned several times previously my love of books of any type, and I received two exciting related purchases for my birthday. I have an iPad but have often complained about how hard it is to read on that dang Kindle app, so Will gave me a Kindle Paperwhite--which is supposed to be great for reading on the beach, in bad light, etc....
I would be SUPER pumped, but I pressed Dutch on accident when setting the thing up, and can't figure out how to get it off:( If anyone can either a) speak Dutch and get it off for me or b) assist me in getting to the correct language I'd really preciate ya
I also got this great cookbook I've been lusting over from my momma that has the cutest scalloped edge pages and the best little treats inside. My big gift from my parents was a BEAUTIFUL big piece of McCarty Pottery I've been wanting for a long time, but this was a really fun happy that I've already read through twice. Go get yourself one. Just what I need to be baking on my "wedding diet" that I am so diligently sticking to (I ate pizza for dinner)....

My mom and I went and I registered this week for the "Big things." I'm using one of my grandmother's china, but we are incorporating a few corresponding pieces, and I chose everyday, etc. It was so much fun. Wedding planning so far has stressed. me. out. Getting all these things to work out on one day is hard work. So it was nice to have a fun little outing and choose some fun pieces for our first house!! Here's a peek...
XoXo and HAPPY WEEKEND

I've been wanting to try a Piko top. They sell them downtown too. I haven't heard of a Kindle Paperwhite, but what a great idea. Wow, those desserts look great!
